February Photo Diary: Valentines, The Ritz and The Gin Birkins

A few pictures from February ...
I tried wearing my hair up once, I didn't keep it up for long, still trying to master the updo
I bought tickets for The Kills in May, its their 15th anniversary so Im sure they will put on an amazing show (as always)
it was sunny for the first time this year so I had to document it

I finally put up The Smiths framed poster Chris bought me last year. We are renting a flat so we aren't allowed to put nails in the wall which is so annoying because id love to decorate it more. Anyway we figured out a way of hanging it without marking the wall (its complicated)

Heres my cheesy smile when Chris gave me some flowers for Valentines Day

my outfit that night wearing all Topshop

I got this amazing and other stories dress this month, I love it but it leaves a trail of glitter everywhere

I went to London to meet up with my auntie and she took me to the The Ritz for a drink, it was very pretty as you can see

the ballroom (we werent really allowed in here)

me and my goofy smile (and some olives)

I got a cocktail called The Ritz 100, it was created for their 100th anniversary, it was made of rum, orange liquer and gold flakes

my auntie got the Marie Antoinette, it was a lot sweeter than mine

I got some Chanel makeup in London too! its my first foray into designer makeup, I got the Le Teint Ultra Tenue foundation in Beige Rose and the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick in La Raffinee. The foundation is a good match to my skintone and really long lasting but it does feel a little heavy on the skin. I really love the lipstick, it honestly feels like velvet and its such a nice pink shade. I've been looking for a subtle pink shade for ages but nothing suited me as well as this one

I also took a really quick trip to Dublin to meet up with some friends. I visited some of my old haunts like Tower Records on Dame Street
I also went to the bookshop on Dame Street called Hodges and Figgus. Unfortunatly I forgot to take any pictures when I was out and I stupidly forgot my phone charger but it was a really nice night out

I went to a gig last week in Bristol that a friend was organising, there were some really great bands from Wales and Bristol. This picture is of The Gin Birkins, check out their bandcamp
I bought a tshirt from them with a picture of Jane Birkin on the front, I can't wait to wear it :P

I also redesigned my blog this month, I hope you like it :)

The Band Jumper | Hades

You must think I'm crazy talking about jumpers in July but these band jumpers from Hades are just too damn cute to wait until Autumn to show you! I discovered this brand when I seen a picture of Carrie from WishWishWish wearing the pink Smiths jumper. Hades is a British knitwear brand that was established in 2015 and uses Scottish lambs wool. Their current winter collection is called 'Some Girls are Bigger Than Others' and is based on the celebration of cult status bands and musicians. The collection reminds me of Bella Freud's famous 1970 Jumper. They are priced at £160 so they are cheaper than Bella Fraud but still a little upmarket. The collection is available to shop on the Hades website or at Liberty London. Liberty London have an exclusive version of each jumper from the collection. The inner fangirl in me wants to buy them all ...

Photo Diary: Mac Demarco and The Last Days of Summer

last week I went to Porthcawl with Chris, the weather was pretty nice so I got one last shot at summer hehe
unfortunately the funfair was closed :( but we had such a nice time at the beach
spying out my future party boat
a Polaroid of me at the beach
so beautiful
coincidently standing beside an ice cream sign hehe
we also went to Bristol to see Mac Demarco
a pitcher of Blue Lagoon looking so tasty :P
looking cute before the gig
at the start of Mac's set I was this close to the stage but by the end I was standing at the back :L the crowd were so pushy and it really ruined the gig for me, I thought a Mac Demarco gig would be a lot more chilled
taking a picture of each other at the same time :P I'm going to miss summer
I went college book shopping but I came back with a Smiths record and The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams which I'm not even studying. I cant wait until Christmas when I can read all my non college related books
The Smiths record is a bootleg of The Troy Tate Recordings which are early recording of songs from 1983 like I Don't Owe You Anything and Reel Around the Foundation which were intended for The Smiths debut album. After an initial pressing the recordings were scrapped and the album was re recorded with John Porter. This is part two so I'm interested in finding out whats in part one
this is the last time Ill be able to wear tops like this for another 10 months ... sigh

Photo Diary: Do something pretty while you can, don't fall asleep

A selection of photographs from the last few days...

I've spent most of this week in bed considering how cold it is and how little I have to do. Id say its been at least six months since I've spoken to someone my age. I've lost a lot of weight too :/ but I am trying to do something productive everyday even though it may be small and insignificant. Today I've been doing some sketching and I've been trying to take more photographs. I don't want this year to be a total waste. My brother has been encouraging me to write because I'm always saying that I want to write a play but I always think up an excuse not to. I read a quote by Jean-Luc Godard recently that has stayed in my mind

"Il faut confronter des idees vagues avec des images claires"
